I thought this video would draw a post or two. Is very short and maybe people missed the information.
- the motor is a 70 hp big foot
- it’s a flats fishing boat with two people onboard
- it hits almost 65 mph

A short shaft 70 hp Yamaha with a small gearcase on a delta with two people onboard won’t run 65 mph.

With the larger gearcase you can run larger diameter props and it has a larger skeg. With the bullet portion of the gearcase running above the water the larger gearcase is an advantage.

These center small tunnel style boats seem well suited to run very well with transom water pickups.
