Post subject:  T Boat Tech T750 and T850

We did have some new racers in T Class in 2015 and we do expect more new racers in 2016 plus the return of some racers who took 2015 off.
This thread is to up date everyone about parts available, class performance and inspection.
Parts
T750 has no issues to date. There is a good supply of new and used motors and parts.
T850 for the OMC currently has shortages for gear case parts.
Class Performance
T750 is getting faster as racers refine their setups. Top boats are 57 mph plus.
T850 did not see the 75 mph plus speeds we saw in 2014. We did see very competitive racing with most boats running in the 71 to 73 mph.
Inspections
Our inspectors did a very good job as did the racers. Electric fuel pump shutoff switches and hold down straps were the only problems.
Engine inspections
Inspectors saw several motors where the 160 compression was very close to a DQ. Racers shouldn't be that close to 160. When you have 2 cylinders over and one under and the average comes out at 159.8, that is too close!
Racers running 56 OMC motors use common sense on the compression and the jetting. The base motor is a de tuned SST 60 and your motor should make 80 to 85 hp. A pure SST 60 runs 180 compression and 73 jets. After the compression check the inspector will check the jets. If your running a jet way larger than a 73. Then something is wrong and the inspector will want to know why!
