These are by far the most difficult motors to find. They are the 15 inch mids. The 90 hp Yamaha bolts on the mid. They have the small foot with the 1:71 foot. Chris is the last person up here to get one. His was a Mariner and he made it into a 90 hp Yamaha short shaft with a drive shaft adapter so he could use the original 1:71 foot. Matt just purchased a long shaft and is looking into converting it to a short shaft. Here is an original one that just came on the internet. NOTICE: the low production number on the serial number plate http://www.nettivaraosa.com/veneen-varu ... at/2363785 The Mariner model is exactly the same except for a few years when Yamaha used the Pro 50 clamp bracket assembly on their motor. This is one of those motors. |

I wouldn't say mine is the same. Mine is a "675" not "6F0". The 6F0 has the larger bore pistons, more compression. |

The name on the invoice is Henry so there is a chance he understands English. I don't see any gear case, but for 200E or $285. canadian the mid is worth the price. I would not take the other parts. You have the more common 675 model and you can get those parts here. The short shaft tuner is different on the 675 and I have a contact here who has one. |

Don, how would one know if a 675 powerhead will bolt to a 6F0 mid? I remember you saying that your 6F0/6F1 powerhead didn't line up or something.. |

The one I have is 3/16's of an inch too long. I will need to cut 3/16's off the top and lengthen the spline. I am hoping to find another one this winter rather than cut up the one I have.. The base plate could be different on that mid, but you can switch your current base plate without any problem. The bolt pattern to mount the powerhead is the same. |

I got an e-mail asking me if the 60CE 6F0 is the race motor. NO the race model is 60DE 6F1. So far I have not been able to find any parts pictures or a parts book I have seen a picture of the motor on a T boat and I posted that video of one pulling a tube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KK2PdG1Sg5s Hear say info is: - the outside appearance is the same as the stock CE model - the tuner is two individual tuners, one for each cylinder - the carbs are offset??? - they ran strong, but didn't last?? - most racers ended up using the stock powerhead after the 6F1 blew up The last person I contacted in Britain had one on EBAY with a Bristol raceboat. He agreed to sell me the motor only and was to send pictures. At the last minute someone purchased the complete outfit and I never got the pictures. I welcome any information on the 60DE 6F1 you can post. Here are some race pictures from the 1980's. There are a few pictures of the 60DE 6F1 boats and motors. There are also pictures of other classes including other V bottom classes running 3, 4 and 6 cylinder motors. https://www.flickr.com/photos/kwmc/sets ... 563910744/ |

FINALLY got a picture of a 60D Yamaha RACING powerhead and the actual tuner. The tuner is a 2 into one stainless pipe. Should be easy to copy. https://www.gumtree.com/p/boats-kayaks- ... 1248472726 Matt this fellow has loads of parts for sale....including a 60D tuner https://www.gumtree.com/p/boats-kayaks- ... 1248471572 Matt an exhaust option could be to use the Nissan pipe and shorten it. http://www.boats.net/parts/detail/nissa ... 311-0.html |

Wow, cool stuff Don. Don, do you know if the larger block like that one bolts to the standard (55/48hp) adapter plate and mid? It is possible that I can have my non-race small block assembled soon. Long shaft config though. too bad that collection is overseas... |

mattmak wrote: Don, do you know if the larger block like that one bolts to the standard (55/48hp) adapter plate and mid?... Matt, I think it does. By the pictures it looks like this fellow has 3 long shaft models. The muffler assembly in the top left has the separate muffler shell so it is a 6F0 model. Two of the 3 blocks look the same. The 60D tuner base plate is an odd shape. I think your motor will be fine. I would like to know if the stamp number on that larger carb is 6F1. |
