Post subject:  MIXING MODELS OMC T750 PARTS ON LATER 1990 and newer MOTORS?

We are starting to see 1990 and newer 2 cylinder OMC T750 motors come up for sale as rebuilds and parts motors.

Here is an example:
https://www.kijiji.ca/v-powerboat-motor ... nFlag=true

Many of these later motors have factory trim.
There are always earlier model parts motors out there at low cost.
A T750 guy would want to run one of the early powerheads... say a big 100.

QUESTION IS?
Will the older powerhead fit the later tower and is the driveshaft the same?
The gear case is not a nitro on the later models....How would it work?
How would the later model powerhead perform if it was race prepared and ran earlier model carbs?

Will the older powerhead fit the later tower and is the driveshaft the same?- The older powerhead would fit yes, might have to change the head because the Pan for the cowl mounts to the head, and the front mounts unbolt would need changing, i think these powerheads share the same crank to 1993
The gear case is not a nitro on the later models....How would it work? Not sure
How would the later model powerhead perform if it was race prepared and ran earlier model carbs? You might need the old electrics I THINK?? the newer ones may have a rev limiter
also the motor in your link is a 20 inch motor
