Is the hp the same or is it Larger ? The E-Tec are about 10 % greater than what they advertise

From what i know from having this same question is this-

2003 to 2005 250 HPDI = just a bit lower than 250hp like 247 or something like that taking into account 10% for power loss to the prop
2006 up hpdi = 252 new on HT Dyno taking into account 10% for power loss to the prop

99 to 2003 250 OX66 = 260hp taking into account 10% for power loss to the prop

i dont know how accurate my info is... it was just a telephone conversation... DoktorC might know more.

I think most of these direct high pressure injection motors, all brands , lose about 15 to 20 propshaft hp , required to run the pump. the torque is what impresses me ,as well as the extended cruising range

Since they need the pump to run all of the dyno readings already include the losses from the pump. It's part of the reason the HPDI's are 3.3L vs 3.1L....and there was never a 225 in the 2.6L version..

If you're interested in trying one...
