Sooo It seems I have lots of options for gear cases, and Paul is, as always, a huge help. But at some point im going to need to decide.... So the original gearcase that came on my Euro was a CLE. It seemed to work great, but I havent pushed the boat all that much so im not sure how much it would have handled. So I have some options, if money wasnt a question what would you choose... A stock 200 case with a Bob's nose cone Another CLE a sportmaster with or without a fat shaft? I dont have any proper props for the boat as of now so a fat shaft wouldnt be to costly in Prop replacement, and I have been told the fat shaft is good for Euro's as they put alot of torq on the shaft when you get them flying. I also want to consider I will be using this for leisure and racing soo what your input? Thanks cheers Momo |

If your not looking for the last 2mph or so I'd go with a Sporty. The fat shaft is nice but it does limit you when it comes to trying props at the beach or buying used stuff. The CLE should should run fine on a Euro but I don't imagine there is any advantage over a sporty unless you put a cone on it. I am sure some of the stv owners can give you more detail on how the handling compares. An interesting note. I've heard from reliable sources that the casting quality in the 200 cases is actually better then the sporty. It doesn't do much for durability but the skegs are actually less prone to cracking (I'm told*) then the much thicker sporty/CLE cases. |

I'd stay away from the stock coned case unless it has HP internals. I'd run the CLE with a cone as my top choice and then the SM with small prop shaft. |

For a lake boat Euro ... Sporty all the way with stock pick ups and 3/4" water pipe... Lots of service life ... the cle will be fine too as this is the technology Roark designed the STV hull around. If you like to turn your STV hard stay away from modified skinny skegs. |
