I use my '04 Tacoma (same engine as Mitchie's 4Runner which is a 3.4L V6) and my wife's RAV4. The RAV4 will accelerate up hills towing the boat as it is a potent V6 and pretty good on gas. As Little Charger said though stopping is important too. My truck will stop quicker with the boat than the RAV4. You can also "feel" the boat more behind the RAV4. I prefer towing with the truck but the RAV gets it done as my boat is within what the RAV is rated for.

I totally agree with Little Charger - You should never under estimate how important the stopping factor is when towing. Too many people forget about that part. Only focusing on the "tow - pull" part.

When your trailer (whatever it is) is heavier than the pull vehicle - you will have a problem - sooner or later.

You can always install a big brake kit with aggressive pads

Won't make any difference if your boat weighs more than the vehicle pulling it...... I think the point here is to be sure your tow vehicle is fit to tow your boat, no smart cars towing challengers or anything.....

Trailer brakes are an option for those towing with an undersized vehicle..

I could always just do what these guys did and tow with my s2000...

It can be done...wilwood big brake kit, dot5 brake fluid, steel braided lines....and a turbo for extra towing power lol

Big brake kit not necessary for towing on this car. With OEM brakes I stop my car stupid quickly. I have on video going from 170km/h to 90km/h in 2 seconds! It's so nutty! Lol The guy who took the pictures says his s2000 is the best towing vehicle he's had, stops better than others and is still good with acceleration. I know my car with my mods would be ridiculous even with a trailer on it

My biggest worry is the frame of my car, it isn't designed to tow...

Don't worry about the frame, you can always add braces.....keep it in V-tec and have fun lol
