Pretty sure Howard ran in the teens with his Simonized Venom? Not sure if that was Chummy's buddy's boat previous or not?

Not Howard...

I stand corrected. I looked back at the thread and Howard was at 108.

Wicked boat though!

i have always liked that Simonized venom... wheres the thread?

I was referring to the thread on FBC. There might be one on S&F as well? Not sure

Here is the initial post he made

Hope everyone is enjoying their winter....here is the new ride!...being shipped from california ..be healthy and safe and i look forward to another fine summer of running..enjoy the vids.. here is the ad from scream and fly...

2006 Simonized HydroStream Venom
Boatmate Trailer in new condition and kept indoors at all times
Boat is Custom painted by Graphics Unlimited, 8k cost
Motor is Custom Built by Simon Motorsports - Merc 3.l liter, 15" mid, 3.0L sportmaster 1.62:1, all Simon's goodies in this motor…
Motor has 335+ horsepower @ 6300 rpm on pre-mix 91 octane.
My motor is even on his website... http://www.simonmotorsports.com/
I picked up this motor end of 2007 and only was able to run it a few times throughout 2008 and haven't really ran it much this year either…
Motor is powdercoated to match boat. Block is white, heads & intake are candy blue..
There are only approx 35 hours on this motor. non nic block. built with the best that simon motorsports has to offer
So far I have been running the boat at 108mph @ 5800rpm’s
It accelerates to 100mph in a short distance with more to go.
This boat runs stable at speed without falling off pad.
This motor has over 350lbs of torque and pulls hard enough to make all the passengers to say OMG repeatedly.
With this motor you can have 4 (four) fullsize adults in it and still run over 100mph!
Three props included; a 28, 32, & 34. They were built by Performance Propellers specifically for this boat and motor combo.
Boat also comes with 5 Coastguard Approved life vest, fire extinguisher, and few other things that you would put in a boat.
This boat is turn key and easy to drive, handles and rides like a dream with no effort!

the vid showing the gps reading 104 is at 5200. ran out of water..ran 108 at 5800 with the 34p...will run 6300 rpm or more based on conditions. have not tried the 32p yet.

Holy slit for sure  That is fantastic James :D That is a Baad Fast Yamerca Powered Venom… :P
You don't need the 1.62's :| That is fast enough LoL

With that paint scheme I think it should be called a Yamercajohn no? :?

Awesome speed. Boat looks a lot better and I'm sure you'll be all over that 114 soon. Congrats! You and Ken have really got some smoking set-ups there.

DoctorC...I'm not asking you to justify yourself or your boat..I'm just saying to get into a pissing contest with Ken (who CLEARLY has a faster, cooler, awesomer boat...though I may be biased)...for bragging rights is meaningless. If you need to go 115 fine...but Mitchie won't think you're any cooler  .

Nice one Rick... :? He is going to take that as a challenge , you know that right LoL:shock:

James, congrats on the big #. Looking forward to seeing it out in Lake Ontario next year at the West Lake GTG. You mentioned that that engine was on a bass boat that did 104. What hull was it?
