I have no idea what this costs... interested in getting a logo design cut out of 1/4" dense foam... is this possible with those processes? I can provide a CAD file of design. Or should I just try an knife? |

I don't know if the process mentioned works for foam! What about a scroll saw with wire blade! How big are the pieces! The other method would be HOTWIRE cutting! being only 1/4" thick it shouldn't be too difficult to cut with a knife unless there are very small internal radius shapes!model shops have some very shallow exacto blades! |

I figured a knife would be pretty tricky... that there must be a reasonable alternative. I've thought of a scroll saw, and will check out if there is a blade that wont grab the foam and tear the edge... sort of like a sandpaper wire? Instead of cutting it sands a path. waterjet just seemed so easy, haha. No manual labour. Also the part I cut out, I'd duplicate in another colour and inlay it. So anything by hand might look funky, haha. |

Just had some waterjet done on Aluminum for the MNR. Turned out great. Not sure about doing it on foam. It would depend on the kind of foam and the density. We use a lot of PVC and have it done on C&C Machine. Cut out letters and stencils etc Try a Sign guy with a C&C Machine - |
