Some people are interested in racing small tunnels with T750 motor or T850 motor. There are some boats in Ontario. PICTURE NUMBER 3 has a white tunnel in the background. http://ontario.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicle ... Z505322487 |

There is a wide range of tunnel hulls that could be purchased. The interest is everything from the boat you build yourself. Which the stock outboarders like. example http://ontario.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicle ... Z499856887 Plus the Fiberglass manufactured models like Mirage and Speed Cat. UP TO pure SST 60 celled boats. The direction will be based on what people would like to run. If racers want to run celled boats. Then we will revisit the diver program. We previously look into having divers thru the Diving School. The cost was $600.00 a weekend and the school would provide certified divers. They were very interested in adding this to their program. The reason people are interested in tunnels especially the smaller sizes, is the lower cost and the boats' multiple function as both a cottage and raceboat. Dads build Sea Fleas with their kids and this is similar. It is another avenue to get young people into the sport. |

The 30 hp? tunnels get large numbers out to race. The boats are really fast compared to the old Sport C tunnels https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KYQHa45sVpM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFylPp0Ivjw If there are people interested. I will look more in to the class. Looks to be a very low cost way to race. - home made or production boats in wood or composite 10 ft to 12 ft. - seat or no seat - hand or foot throttle - no power trim - manual or electric start - unlimited motor mods [no turbos or NOS]. Looks like you can mix parts from other models of the same make but, there are some original 30 hp parts that must be used. Gear case for sure. - pump gas - any type of water pick up They run 65 to 70 mph on the race course |

Here is a new SPEEDCAT kit $2000.00. This are very stable with a 25 to 30 hp motor, stable fast with a 40 to 50 hp motor and WILD with a Stinger. http://www.kijiji.ca/v-powerboat-motorb ... nFlag=true I would cut the strong box down same as a hydro and knee in the boat using a hand crash throttle. Now you have a rough water tunnel. |
