Driving in the Peterborough area with my s2000 today, testing out my new setup. Didn't feel right, lost control under heavy braking, understeering like a pig... Luckily I took a wrong turn going. This had me need to do a U-turn, and that's when this happened, LUCKILY while I was going 5km/h and not fast. For reference, this is how it should look, this is the other side... And there is my fluky story of the day |

Carson wrote: So the bolts fell out? Lol That's what it looks like... I really have NO idea why. My friend brought his trailer and is bringing it back to his shop to get it fixed up. He's gonna use some lock tite on this time, make sure that bolt doesn't come loose at all. Just scary that it let loose like that, and could have happened at a faster speed. I would have written off the car if it happened at any other speeds. |

That is Fluky!!!! Lol. Nothing like having your front wheel relocated to your door. My wife had a ball joint let go on my Talon just as she turned onto an on ramp for the 400...same deal 5km/h vs 15 seconds later she would have been into the wall at full boost lol. What is special about that piece? |

It's an aftermarket camber joint, if that's what you mean by the piece being special? Here's the outside picture of the car, not drive-able at all |

Yup that's what I was wondering...doesn't look adjustable but hard to tell from the pic. And Boomer is on to something. Seems odd they rely on just a bolt without anything else to keep it there. It amazes me how little stands between us and a hard left into the woods lol. |

As far as I understand, it doesn't need a lock nut on the top side, which doesn't make much sense to me either. Here is a picture of another camber joint installed that I found from google There is no lock nut on the top. I also notice the bolt isn't sticking as high up either. I believe it was the wrong bolt being used on my car, and that's what the problem was. The camber joint was installed on my car 1 day before this happened... |

By whom?? You got really lucky. Who ever installed it needs to be aware of what happened so they can make sure they do it differently next time. If there's no room for a bolt I'd be inclined to cross drill the heads and wire em in place. Even if they come loose you'll catch it on regular inspections. |
