So after ripping around in my son's Voodoo a few times I was thinking it might be an idea to upgrade in a year or two to a newer composite hull with a little more power for us to share. I forgot how fun the little boats are .I would want something though that wouldn't rot out like the old Streams. Who is making an open deck style boat anymore? Only one I have heard of is possibly a 13' Allison copy out of Florida, and a 15' Allishot made by Jack Barsh also in Florida. Anyone building something similar up here? Would be a pain to bring one up from the US. Maybe I will get lucky and find a used Allison copy up here for sale. Thanks |

It's a piece of cake bringing a boat up from the US. Don't let the border scare you. Go to Florida for march break, stop at FTP, drag a boat home...... Done!! |

Its more of a time and crummy exchange rate pain. Just don't have that kind of time to drive to Florida and back. I bought my Grandsport in the US about 9 years ago but it was only 8 hrs away and at the time our dollar was actually worth more than the US. |

You can use u-Ship to get good quotes for guys to pick up the boat in the US and drop it off at a shipping depot along the US side of the border. You then run across and bring the boat over the border yourself, saving the costs of a customs broker. Just like Northbase said, if your paperwork is in order it's a painless process. You can probably have a boat like that shipped up to the border for ~$1500 USD if you're flexible on the timing. Matt |

And there's Frank Mole on Scream and Fly for transport services. He's often empty coming back from Florida. |

If you're shipping a new T sized boat I think it would make more sense to buy a voodoo or a closed deck critchy. |

Do you have any interest in a open deck Critchfield not very common but i have had one in my family for 8 years and it has come back to me again... Set up for omc , turn signal trim controls, new rideguide steering cable, bench or bucket seat, jack plate, trailer and running lights. Send me a number and i can text some pic's if interested Mercrazy |
