I would be confident in those old mercs pushing the challenger to 80mph... very confident. It's widely regarded that the boat DOES handle the rough better with two on the back. I would have put twin 200/225hpdi's on the back of that boat.. But the big XB should get that boat to 65mph... I don't think there will be much more in it... I like to mix practicality with style. That's why I would have went with economical(fuel wise), light twins... With very little set back. V8's would sink that thing...

Sometimes James... you come across as a dick.. As do I.

I love you all.

?? economical(fuel wise), light twins...??? Its double the fuel and oil. nothing is econimical about that. All to gain 5mph.

now way 300 v8s would sink that thing

and the win goes to.....

even the most efficient twins would use 1.5 times the fuel a single will...and they are rarely significantly faster (other than the 22 Talon...that thing comes to life with twins).

Shivers...my Black Max remark wasn't actually directed at you...it was at Mr 80's lol. I'm not throwing stones.

That being said...the 'tini will be fine with the single 3L based on the performance of other similar hulls and how it ran with the car motor.
I wasn't trying to imply that the I/0 was better! I'm just a lot curious how well it will get on plane with fuel,passengers,gear!
if you say there out there running I guess it works. I'm an old school outboard guy and maybe don't realize the torque these new motors have!
James- we'll get together for a run one day, I'm not planning on having it back together until the Gravenhurst Show, so sometime that weekend or after! I'm real happy with my boat, I don't consider it state of the art,but it was in it's day, when you see and hear it run,you'll like it! I'll pull the 200lb. stereo out of the bow so it has that wheelie ride you like!

One this is for sure.. And thats that a Cole can't catch me.

AAAAnd. Twins are cooler to me. Sorry.

Facts are that there are two twin promax Panteras that run 90's... So dave and Steamer can have all the fun they want with singles... But unless they bolt another on??? Not catching them twins.

Now F()ck off. :shock:
