Post subject:  Boomer needs a T boat motor..

http://ontario.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicle ... Z472060049 ,, what am i looking for,,, can a motor from the 70's work, I know im looking for a 15" mid but can this powerhead be used for anything, other than a boat anchor , 45 ci

Jake Elsey did have a low cost short shaft OMC for sale awhile back.

What I would say is that you would want something where parts are readily available. A 40+ year old motor likely isn't going to provide you that luxury.

What I would say is that you would want something where parts are readily available. A 40+ year old motor likely isn't going to provide you that luxury.


well i dunno dubber i think there is tonns of parts for them and cheap,, but there is a reason, they lack power and use fuel,, i think they have an extra main jet that just pours right into the drink, :lol: kidding

There could be lots of parts, I don't know. I generally assume that 40 year old parts are hard to come by. Too bad that extra main jet doesn't lead to an increase in power! Plus Dok doesn't have much in the OMC department lying around!!!!

I wish that motor was legal... It would make things much easier if i could bolt that on instead of trying to find a nitro case.. That boat was too fun with the 90 on it!
