I picked this one up from Hevi Kevi about a year and half ago and have been slowly chipping away at it. I always loved the J-Craft growing up, spent many hours skiing behind a couple of friends J's. So thought it would be a good addition for the family to ski behind at the lake.

The boat was actually in pretty good shape for it's age but needed a new transom, interior work and general trailer stuff.

Who ever owned it before Kevin had tried to support the rotten transom with some angle iron and filled the transom with a pile of holes.

Here it is at the start

I removed the old transom without cutting or removing the entire deck off. I split the first 5 feet or so of the deck at the back so I could raise it a couple of inches to slide pieces in and out. It took alot longer to get the old transom out but it did save the hassle of pulling the deck or trying to repair a cut deck.

So made some progress, transom is back in with some knees

Back of boat turned out ok

cleared the metalflake and lots of watersanding and still more to go

Still have to do the carpet, rubrail, clean up the wiring (I'll have to go look at some of Doug W's pics when he was selling his panther ;) ) get the seats repaired and dyed. Running out of time for this year so we will have to use the seats as they are and get them done in the fall. Trailer may get a fresh coat of paint when the boat is in the lake, i replaced the bunks already.

Ah Jezzz I didn't even notice!

Dok hooked me up with a sweet 150 Pro V with a later style Pro V cowl (the old ones from the 80's in my opinion look alot better then the ones from the 90's). The motor is going to be perfect for skiing and footing, lots of torque and it's looks right at home on the back for a period correct look.

Thanks Dok!

That looks great LC! That Pro V cowl looks like it is in awesome shape. The matching trailer is pretty sweet. Have fun with the old girl. It will be a blast.
