“In this video Jesse is dominate. He is able to rundown and pass the lead boats. Once in the lead he can hold the lead without even trimming out on the straightaways. In the Gravenhurst videos he isn’t the same. Kristain appears to be running similar to how he ran in the Tweed video, but, Jesse can’t catch him.”

If you watch the other classes race you normally don’t see many 1, 2 or 3 position changes in the running order after the first lap. The boats boats have similar characteristics especially in acceleration. Driver error and driver racing experience play important parts in boat racing.

Top racers are running up front for many reasons. T850 has undergone many engine spec changes and new drivers in the class the last few years. Many racers are still trying to figure up what powerhead to race , what boat to run and what setup and prop to run.

Kristain I believe? is running the same motor and boat setup that he has raced for several years. He is very comfortable racing that boat and knows what it is capable of doing provided the race goes as he planned. He knows the competition.

I agree with your comments. Kristain has been consistent at both races. Jesse, Chris and Josh have not. Certainly Chris and Jesse have had engine issues and Josh appeared to have handling issue.
When running well those 3 appear to be able to beat Kristain.

BUT! They need to run consistent to beat Kristain because there is only a small difference in performance difference in any of them. That advantage disappears once the water gets rough and they are playing catch-up, plus they are racing each other to get the opportunity to catch the lead boat.

At Tweed everything when well for Jesse and once in the lead he had control of the race and was on cuisine control.

What you likely missed was Craig had the lead at Tweed at the start. That would have been a great experience for him. He has also been consistent and I think he has racing experience in other Motorsports, he appears very calm driving in these videos.
