I thought you had to be a certain distance from shore to require flares? Like a couple miles or so? |

X2 I read something recently that indicated the flare requirement BUT there is an exemption for lakes, canals and rivers where you're not farther then 1 nautical mile from shore. How big is Ramsay Lake Kenny?? Check the transport Canada website. Minimum safety requirements section. |

What I want to know is how they caught you?!?!?!? X3 on the law. I'm pretty sure you don't need them on smaller lakes. I know we didn't require them on Sturgeon. |

i dont think you need flares , cops are just grabbing all the cash they can this summer.. i got no flashlight fine when i was on my trailer.. for non human powered vesels 19'8" - 29'6" Visual Signals 4. One (1) watertight flashlight 5.
