I for one would love to race either one of these classes. I really don't want to travel huge distances across the boarder just to be able to race it. Hypothetically speaking, if it were possible to bring these back here, would there be any interest in racing them? Although expensive for the new parts, at least Seaway is making new parts for the SST-45 motors and I don't think boats are huge dollars for the class which would make this the more appealing choice of the 2 to me.

If there was a way to cover the extra costs involved, who else would be interested in racing these? I'm interested to see if at least there is enough people wanting to do it to run a class...

I would be in as well. I looked into doing it in the states at one point but the drive is just to much.

Come on pops, blow the cobwebs out of that thing and get it ready for Dunnville :). You get that 911 boat ready and I'll make sure I have a 750 boat ready to run as well as an 850

That's just it. Too much driving just to get a race in. I figured a couple more people would be into this. I know there are at least a couple others interested that I've talked to.

Ok, please people, explain the extra costs and obstacles that would need to be overcome to make this happen besides having enough people interested in doing it. Everyone has a different answer for this question on cost and problems to do it. I know divers is the big one. Can the capsule training for these divers not be done at the race site on a Friday prior to the race? Maybe a local diving school would be willing to supply divers in exchange for advertizing for the school at the race? Everyone puts an "ABC diving school" sticker on their boat and the announcer gives them some plugs throughout the event? Just throwing ideas out there...

As with all classes the KEY factor is boat count. The rest is all possible.
[1] the current insurance covers these classes, there would be no extra insurance cost.
[2] best to follow APBA rules, no insurance problems and it also gets boats from the US to attend.
[3] the dunk test is available normally at the CBF convention or February in Buffalo. This test is much better than the ones at OPC races in the US. They spend almost a half hour with each driver here compared to 5 minutes. You get tested every 2 years not every year.
[4] divers are available, contacts are already in place and the costing can be worked out.
