T850 Class was hurt in Europe when the Yamaha 70CES disappeared

GT30 is a 30 hp GREEN MOTOR V bottom class in T and is doing well overseas

Most clubs and associations running T classes expanded their rules to include the green motors.
We have done that in our rules. We currently have a 60 hp 4 stroke Mercury running in T750.

One race group has decided to develop GT60 which is a pure green class.
They have approximately 9 identical boats so the series is similar to the old NASCAR IROC Series.

I don't think we could get enough interest here to do the same thing. But, I do hope they develop a hull to suit the
heavier GT60 motor.

Don, the problem I see with running a green motor class is the cost. You can build a lot out of old junk for the cost of a new etec! A sealed stock green motor class is very interesting but I just don't see it generating enough interest in Ontario for people to spend the $$. IMO you would need 5 people to commit to get it started. Now if you could convince a manufacturer to back the program and sell engines for 50% below cost you could likely get enough volunteers.
