There likely are much better ideas around now, but we used a similar part to convert a Buick IO 20 footer to and outboard Fishing boat. The boat was an old 20 foot Cutter Mark Twain we got for free. This deep, short nose boat with lots of space was powered by a dead Buick. The coversion was simple and the result excellent. The boat is still out fishing.

I walked away from a free boat this fall. Having the swim platform and the outboard bracket all in one would have worked perfect. Ours used the original bolt holes from IO out drive to mount the motor bracket. We had to make additional brackets to add strength to the transom. With the built in swim platform, it spreads the weight over the transom and is a simple bolt on. A few years ago I saw a similar bracket with the swim platform in the woods. A well to do guy had mounted it on a 24 foot pontoon boat and ran a 200 hp mercury. The boat was not strong enough and the welds all broke after after a month so he sent the boat to the dump. I wasn't smart enough to know that part was for an IO to outboard conversion.
Now I know. Thanks
