In the last year the cost of new race props has increased. Most have almost doubled in price. The Canadian dollar is low and may get lower after January 20, 2025. Even the small horsepower props are more expensive .

The new small 10-10 1/2 X 16-18 Ron Hill props for an example:

Even the older models

Props can be reworked, splines changed, pitch sometimes can be changed by a couple of degrees, diameters reduced, blades can be reshaped.

You may find there is interest and more value in your old prop.

Look at the cost of a new T Boat prop today....over $1000.00 Canadian and you still have the Canadian taxes to add!

This thread goes back to March of this year. I didn’t answer Paul’s question at that time because I didn’t know what props I had left that would work on the current T Boats. I sold all of my OMC nitro gearcase TBoat props to racers years ago so they could race. I had one prop left which we raced on our 411 critchfield...it was a 13 x 22 and it wasn’t the best prop I had but it was the only one left....Paul was the last one to try it, they ran it on Jesse ‘s T750 critchfield.....Paul said it ran OK but lacked top end compared to their Bucknell. prop ...that was over 5 years ago.
That’s the biggest TBoat prop I had. My other TBoat props are smaller because we raced a Yamaha and the tohatsu. My SST 60 props didn’t work on a TBoat.
Since 2018 I have purchased several Ron Hill props thru hub and 4 blade. The best one I thought would be a 12 x 22 thru hub. I had the Bucknells rework the prop. The disappointment was it was only 19 pitch not 22. They tested it on their critchfield and it was great except they ran out of rpm so it had poor top end. Ryley tested my 4 blade props last year and said they worked well but he never did any top speed runs. So that is the current state.
Next step!
Tim Topping is coming for a visit next week. He will pickup the 13 x 22 OMC and the Ron Hill props
and take them to 6 mile lake. His neighbor is the Gordon Family and Mack is also nearby. Hopefully they can all try the props and see how they work. If anything it should give them reference as to what should work and one could be a pleasant surprise.
