Ran the same motor as this only a Mariner with 40 decals on a Delta on Six Mile Lake....55 to 57 mph out of the box! Yes that was the motor that was on Brendan's boat before the mod 70 yamaha. Likely run even better on a 24 inch transom VooDoo being a long shaft. 55hp Yamaha with throttle contols and steering controls engine runs great, was serviced last year and installed new prop. I have not used it this year no time. Comes with fuel tanks, and battery. I aslo have boat trailer and boat with it the boat needs work would let entire pakage go for $2000. http://ontario.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicle ... Z398792288 |

Here is another one. 48 mph on a Tuff 16 shows how strong these are Power trim, premix, real solid running. New water pump and fuel pump. Just tested and ran 48mph on TUFF 16. Controls included. http://ontario.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicle ... Z401325553 JUST ANOTHER THOUGHT ABOUT THESE MOTORS. I DO LIKE THEM. These are excellent barge or pontoon boat motors. Just make one change. Switch the gearcase and use one off a 70 yamaha. The large case with the 2.33 gears. First make sure that the 55 is the middle version. There are 3 versions a short 15, a middle 19 inch and a long 21 inch. The 19 lower unit switches with the long 70 yamaha. You may need to grind a bit off the driveshaft at the spline end to make it fit. The large 70 gear case allows you to use big diameter props which helps handling. Also, a T guy would trade for the 55 gearcase |
