First off, we need to inform everyone that there was an accident on the race course and a fellow racer in the Vintage class lost his life. Our thoughts are with his family and friends. This happened moments before OPBRA racers were set to go in the water. The event was cancelled, post accident. We were not able to launch and show the crowd what it is that we do. Full respect for the Rideau Ferry Safety crew and organizers. They handled the tragic situation with professionalism and integrity.

Now, I would like to discuss our presentation as OPBRA.
All drivers were ready, willing and able to race.
All crew members were professional and rule compliant.
Every boat except our new friend from Rideau Ferry passed tech inspection. This was an easy fix of a fuel pump kill switch that Dean installed for him.
All safety gear was in place, current and in great condition.
Two of our scheduled 18 boats could not make the show due to mechanical issues.

You all showed up and put a new face on Drag Racing in Ontario.
Many positive (and no negative!!) comments were received by our partners in the Vintage class.
What sticks out the most is how many of them said "You guys area a class act and are going places".

Well done by all. Thank you all for your efforts to make this Association fly.
Looking very forward to PTBO and expanding on this picture!!!

Sounds like everyone involved put their best foot forward. Even though events didn't allow an in-water demo you all made a positive impression. Great job. Peterborough's gonna be awesome.
