I think we should discuss that at the next board meeting.

If we’re going to bring in a 3 cylinder drag class it would be a waste of time and effort to not use the same rules.

AGREE 100%

I don't think they changed the 3 cylinder rules from this 2017 thread.
https://www.screamandfly.com/showthread ... 3cyl-class

Here are the weights:
42ci-44ci 780lbs.....this is our T750 class. T750 weight is 594 so I don't think we would get interest from them.

45ci-62ci 800lbs....this is our T850 class. T850 weight is 725 lbs....ALL of the non composite T850's are close to that 800 lb. weight so it is a good fit for them.

63ci-86ci 880lbs.....We don't currently have a T class for these motors. So this would be a drag class only.

The allowed mods for drag 3 cylinder are more than our T classes, however some of the lower unit and mid section alterations are legal in T and you can buy NEW parts.....example 15 inch 90 yamaha mid is the same as the T750 yamaha.

I believe the top yamaha is Jason Johnsons. It would be a good idea to get his ET times. That would give us the ET we need to be competitive. Several guys would just like to run drag. Some of the T850 oval racers can fill in the drag field. I don't think we should have a 63 to 86 cubic inch T class OVAL unless ALL boats have cells.

I think we can surprise our American racers in this class and be VERY strong. I like the 45ci-62ci 800lbs. group. It has an 80 lb. advantage over the 63ci-86ci 880lbs. group. Our T 850 racers have messed around with the OMC 56 fishing powerheads and make big horsepower. The drag rules allow for more mods so they will be even better. Mount one of their mod 56 oval ports on a Mercury 15 inch mid with the mercury small gear case on a 13 foot Allison.......Todd, Kevi, Paul and Dave are likely already thinking!
