ARE YOU SMARTER THAN THE DESIGNERS WHO BUILT THE MOTOR?

Awesome...

Mitch you are right...snowmobilers do take the prize...that's the only group of people who will give unsolicited advice or criticism to a factory race team in the pits at a race event lol.

But...this is about T boat motors and how you sst60 guys should just give it up...the stinger is a much better choice :D

oui,, not smarter than the designers,,, but can fix minor imperfections and flaws from production and make almost any stock motor run a little better,,...... i think doc hit the nail on the head,, and i'll quote,,

" I don't have to operate within the constraints that "He" had to. My motor doesn't have to live for 2000 hours on the back of an east coast lobster boat running on a mixture of sea water, 82 octane and skreech..."

have any of you heard the story of the mechanic and the engineer?

Consider that the motors are designed to run on everything..... Heavy to light. I can only really relate to the 2.? Motors from merc but there is A LOT to be had, though like suggested on this thread for the most part other than the basics such as compression anything beyond what a drag already has done to it will hurt you.
As far as t-motors there is a ton left in them..... You just need the right builder

These will get some more comments:
What does the dyno test results tell you about the powerhead?
If one powerhead has better results over another, does that mean it will perform better on your boat?
How much faith do you have in the dyno horsepower rating?
How much increase do you need in horsepower to notice a difference?

That its awesome (mine might break the dyno)
A T motor would be more concerned with power under the curve than actual peak power...
A dyno is only as good as its operator...and in reality should only be used to show improvements over a baseline. Dyno the motor stock, make changes, rerun the test to see improvement....the actual number is useless in the real world (we don't race dynos)
Good question...I gained 2-3mph by going to a CES spec motor with a cut stock head (over a stock motor with the same cut head)...and since my motor was 70hp stock...and a CES is 70hp...I guess my answer would have to be zero hp = 2-3mph....just think how many mph I would get if I added even 1 addition hp...infinity!!
