I spilt coffee on mine and cleaned it up with ginger ale. Will it be OK?

I got my replacement plate in the mail today and it looks great.
THANK YOU MITCHIE! You certainly didn't have to do that. You're a stand up dude.
I think I figured out my engine problems to so I'm looking forward to running the little prop again sometime soon

Do me a solid and mount it with 1 1/2" hanging off the back ... And for the love of Gawd... DO NOT PAINT IT!!!! :)

Google "lexan care" and you will soon discover what it likes and does not like.

I will bet you will launch harder than ever!

Why so far back? Is that for strength or performace?
I ask because a) the spray from my gearcase will be hitting it and creating more drag/stress on the plate b) the last one broke at the back of the plate.
I've always thought with drag applications the plate should go as far forward as possible to help preload the prop and clean up faster?

My theory is that it helps push the nose down on take off. The plate you have goes as far forward as the Eagle one and Triad. I'm gonna make a video of me trying to break lexan with repeated hammer blasts and standing on it trying to break it. I have never seen it shatter or crack unless a chemical has attacked it!

What did you clean it with before you painted it? Basically any vasol or spirits can attack it as well.

You can mount is anywhere you want strength wise... I designed it by taking what I thought made sense on all the foils available... And kind of putting it together into one. Mine hangs back that far and Launches me beautifully and robs no top end or mid range....

I was devastated when I heard of yours breaking... And then I remembered the paint.

I Think what I am saying is that "stress" on the plate is not an issue with the raw product.

I'll tell you what....

Run it like I say this year... If you don't like it ... You can give it to me in Sept/Oct. And I will modify it for you.

If it's not a structural issue I will just run it the same way it was before.
With your plate my boat left flatter then it ever has before. I think I figured out my missing HP issue as well so hopefully I'll be a bit more competative at Dunnville.
I'll just be sure to keep it away from anything chemical.

Any idea how lexan reacts to fuel? (I've got a leaky upper crank bearing lol)
