Hi guys, looking for some help. I am going to look at a boat tomorrow that has a early 90's 200 XRI. If I buy the boat I plan on selling the XRI and putting a old 2.6L Yamaha on it. I want the reliability.
What is the value of a stock 200 XRI with a non coned lower with a side mount control box?

Thanks,
Rob

if it runs and has compression 1500 low 4000 high, depends on its condition .. maby!!! depends on how much money the guy has that wants it, if anyone wants it,, its a good motor. 2.6l is better :D

take a compression tester, and check it out,, pull the plug on the lower to see if the oil is milky,, it looks clean anyway,, take the cover off look at the bolt heads, that one wat to tell if its been appart alott,, that is a good motor, a few guys run them on here, i have a similar motor but mine is carb,, and it blew up :(

Hi guys, I did not buy the boat / motor. 120 lbs compression in 5 cylinders, less than 50 in the other. My gauge starts reading at 50.
It was a 89 2.4L 200.
Boat was nice but the guy would not come down to a reasonable price when I informed him that he had a sick motor.

glad you took the tester.... that is exactly what destroyed my merc 175,, the last owner blew a cylinder and kept running it untill a rod let go.. it wouldn't be a huge deal to fix that motor NOW... but once something lets go........say goodnight.....
