Interesting read LC. Interesting as well that there is speculation that this wreck might not be the Waubino. That is a big boat to go missing and a big boat to be unknown. G-Bay is deep though and if something sinks off a shelf it is gone forever. Just like the big lake Gitchie Gummie!

The entire area is rich with history and unfortunate events such as ship wrecks. I need to find a good ship wrecks of G-Bay map for my wall...

i Visit the iconic seaflee wreck off the back of Mason island... we can check that out too next year. i'v heard that it went through Generations of the royal family...

There's actually a guy around me that did that with an old 18' I/o and left the top foot or so of the boat out of the ground :lol:

They have actually never found the wreck. It was thought to be somewhere between Byng Inlet and the French River I do believe. Over 100 people drowned, there were only 2 survivors.

So I guess we need to rename this thread to Ship Wrecks of Georgian Bay.
