I usually have excess concrete after a pour and cast anchors with it.
Old tires work great, after they set up you can role them around and gang them up to whatever size you need.
A normal size car tire comes in around 200 lbs.
If you need something really big I know of a couple of ready mix trucks that had their loads go hard in the drum. Full load plus the drum would be around 20 tons.....but you gotta pick it up, they won't deliver.

My boat IS heavy ...

Mitchie are you looking for an anchor to moor your boat overnight or just short term at the beach? Lots of different shapes and sizes depending on lake bottom - rock, sand, shallow water or deep water use, etc.

Sorry, can't post a picture but I have one that's 125 lbs.
He has four paws, very large teeth and a calm demeanour.
His name just happens to be Anchor!

.....actually, it won't.
That trick works with residue or part loads.
If its a full load, you're pretty much FUBAR.

Mitchie, you should have Greg install one of his corkscrew pilings into the lake bottom for you before the ice goes out.....that will hold the boat for sure :D
