a supercharger like a rotrex on the sho would be unreal. prob easy 400 hp plus and would only add maybe 50 Lbs at most... so sho at 505 so 555 lets say with the supercharger.... fuck that would be sick.

i guess when it come to consumer demand on a kit like that for the sho it probably not worth it to manufacture a kit for resale however your right all the parts are out there it just takes some one to piece it together... i'd like to see that come out of the rad shop please.

I really don't understand why there isn't more of that kind of stuff available. Like bike, sled and cars...you want to dial in your fuel and timing...not a big deal. Go buy a power commander or SAFC or EFi Live...boom you're done. Want a turbo kit for an 89 civic..no prob..cripes I can go build a 400hp yamaha PWC through mail order...but yet nothing for a modern outboard.

I talked to the power commander guys again this year about outboard stuff and it was like I was speaking Cantonese...an outboard?? Whaaa??

Anyway...unless it starts to rain $100 bills yo...It's out of my reach to develop. Maybe I should go on dragons' den lol

OR.....maybe go this route. Got to love the torque number and it likely weighs a lot less than 600 lbs..

http://www.marineturbine.com/images-pro ... l/BR05.jpg

It is a Rolls/Royce-Allison C-18 250 Series Jet Turbine fitted to a Mercury 2.5 Liter High-Performance lower end.
The motor is Multi-Fuel and runs on Diesel, Bio-diesel and many others-even Natural Gas.
She burns 22-26 gallons an hour and makes 320hp at 425 Ft/lbs. of Torque

I heard they ran 97 mph with four mercs on a 39 nortech. Pretty good, If you get them up to 500+ hp they would be flying

Four... That's nutty! Probably has the fuel consumption rated at gallons per mile

while I would like to take one of these out on a larger offshore hull , for my money, the two stroke is still the only choice for our size hulls. Parts will get harder to come by in years to come I guess.

I almost agree...a tuff 21 or Talon 22 though....they will hold up twins so you know they will float the veranda...and it's hard to argue with 400hp.

Now, a vking...not so much. There will be many bass boats with these as there is now with the 250-300 veranda though.

The expense will be a bigger barrier to entry than the weight I would think....especially since most of use run motors that are more than a decade old lol.
