This year's West Lake GTG is the weekend of August 11. Saturday is the day for boating on West Lake with BBQ and fireworks afterwards at our place. Plenty of space for anyone wanting to camp out Friday night (to get an early start) and Saturday night (so you're not driving home tired). This is a great place to bring your family to hang out. Not to worry if you're boatless, someone will make sure you get out to the dunes to enjoy the fly-by show.

There will be a few bigger boats launching from the marina in Lake Ontario at Quinte's Isle Campark, driving around Salmon Point to Wellington and entering West Lake from there.

Many of you already know the details, where we live, where the lake is, but if there are any newbies that need some details, let me know.
8-)

Thanks Patty !

this is more for the Elite Castaways.... if you are on FBC and have answered Patty don't bother saying it twice !

best G2G i have been to and i didnt even have a boat !

lets make the trip guys !

TBoats and Thunder cats would be fine. the launch isnt far away and the waves dont get too big... and if the thunder cats want some big water around the point would be wild!

awesome photo opportunity as well..

I think I'm in for this one. I have not had near enough time on the water this year. There is no better place!
We'll be 2

Can someone post a google map link or draw on this image where in the dune area people hang out to watch/chat/park boats? Trying to figure out if my family can get ther by land from the Sandbanks park or something.

You won't be able to get to the dunes by land. But we'll be renting a pontoon from Edgewater Park so your family can travel to the dunes with us. You could meet us at Edgewater or our house in the morning and maybe there will be others with room in their boat to carry you over to the dunes.

Thanks for the info, I will relay that.

I'm sure someone could give them a ride over. Just if they got tired of being there, or Megan (1.5 years old) was being a real handful, they had no way back to the car without bother someone. My wife won't let Megan in the ThunderCat even idling around until next summer.
