While at school recently I asked about this, seems no one in Canada knows anything about the flat crank motor going into production, or at least they wouldn't say they knew..... I think it would be cool though!

It's basically like an oversized motorcycle engine in a car, I love it. I doubt Ford will release anything about the motor until last second.

Funny the R1 went to a crossplane crank to make the power delivery more suited for the track lol. The bike sounds like a small block chev....which I really like.

I do love cool engines....even if its a ford...

True... You got me lol, not all motorcyle engines are flat plane cranks. I do remember reading about that happening in 2009 I believe it was. All ducatis have the L plane crank shafts too.

I wasn't trying to get you lol...just pointing out an interesting factoid. I think the R1 is the only cross plane bike...and yes it was to smooth out power delivery so it would hook coming out of a corner..instead of trying to kill people.
