What are the differences in the vee bottom Chargers? Pros and Cons
Did the SK ever come with a wind shield?

They are more or less the same bottom, with different tops.

My DL had an SK Bottom. Never heard of an SK with a windshield.

They are both great all round boats. Early 80's where built very strong.

There are two distinctly different hulls...but it's a crap shoot as to which hull gets which deck.

Good info guys but maybe I should ask what's the difference in hull design, the reason I ask is because there's an SK for sale that I might be interested in, need to know a little more about them.
Thanks

Both seem to work equally well. Some have a notched transom, some don't. Some have additional wedges in between the first and second strake. There's 3 versions of the transom I believe. The early boats had a wide well with an inset area where the motor mounts. These boats have a balsa transom. I'm a bit fuzzy on the later boats.

This one here is an 89 that I am going to look at this week, I need a boat for the summer and so far my picks are between the charger and a vision for about the same price and almost the same year.

I can tell you about the 1988 to 1995 SKs. We had 10 of them in our bay, all were purchased new. The 88 and 89 models all had the SK bottom and they were all the same with the tank in the bow. They all were good quality and they all lasted. We still have our SK. No one had a 1990. The 1991 to 1995 models mostly had the DL bottom. Some had bow tanks. The quality of the boat was poor. They were not straight down the sides and the floors were bad. The 1995 was the first to rot. When the floor was removed the centre support was a junk two by four. Word spread quickly and all of the other people sold their boats. There is a fellow with an 81 model which they have had since new. It is still all original.

Being from 1989 it's hard to know the history of this one but I will do my home work. Was there a reason for the tank being in the front? Seems like majority of performance boat have their tanks at the stern unless there's a handling problem.
