The ONE question I can answer is I believe that this is probably one of if not the Strongest and most durable dragplate there is..... The gear case will break first.

Have you tested to verify? I hope to read the report and your testing procedure for this indciating the conditions and measured breaking points at which the tests were conducted ;)

Is there any interest in these.?

I was thinking about making 6 of them if people want them. The only way to make it worth it I would have to charge $100.00 ea.

note. If you're worried about it breaking/durability then you know nothing of the material. If it breaks, you will never know because you have lost your gearcase and mid with it, and it's on the bottom of the lake lol.

I'm surprised I missed this. I built a snowboard out of 3/4" lexan when I was 18. Cut the basic shape, then stuck the nose under the wash machine and heated it with a propane torch. It bent eventually, but I got bubbles at both ends. An oven would have done the trick, but my project was too big. I also got in shit for burning the paint off the washer lol... I like it Mitch, if it goes into production I could have 2 sales for ya!

if you sand the edges smooth and hit it with a propane torch it will clear!might take a little practice, but I know it works! I want one for my xr6 case! should fit?

That is awesome! I bet the Maytag man hasn't seen that....

I've got one of Mitchie's prototypes and it's VERY well done....the guy is a master with the Lexan...

Thanks for the kind words Dok... Keep in mind though guys.. I make these by hand (I am not perfect). You also will have to get your own stainess hardward(i just get my stuff at tsc.. They seem to have the best deals) And I use 1/4 I believe. And drill your own mounting holes(this is easy as pie... I can help you or even do it if you want to come to my house.. lol)

Shivers... I think they are pretty universal. If you get one and it does not fit.. We will make it fit. I will try the flame polish thing on a piece of scrap. I know that works with plexi/acrylics.. But the jury is out on poly carbs. If it works, I will see how much extra time it takes me.

A clear snow board would be super cool. But man.. It would be almost as pricey as a Burton.. lol.

I am gonna tool up this week and get some made. If I can sell 6 and there is still demand I will make more.

Thanks in advance. Any questions let me know. If you want to see one.... Me, Dok and Dubber each have one. Dubber's was a second because his family does not care for him. :)

Actually, it pretty much sucked. It was heavy and slow, and I wasn't allowed on the hills because it didn't have steel edges. I traded it for dope that I sold for a 72 Nova. It's all good lol

I googled flame polishing on poly and "Mitchie is right"
I guess the pieces I saw being finished were acrylic! so don't worry about making it pretty, I'll deal with that!
