Are there any new or newish motors that would work on a VooDoo
Sometimes I still miss my old VooDoo/Nissan 70. I don't know when I would run a third boat.

Yamaha 70 4-stroke or one of those etec things (come with free paddles if you buy at the boat show!!)

The little 70 should be very comparable to any of the stock 60/702-strokes and has a reasonably small gearcase.

Just wondering why would you want a 4stroke motor on a race boat? Arnt they heavier?
Unless the motor is a race 4stroke wouldnt racing it void warranty?
Price is probably double?

The beauty part of racing these T classes is the cheap power available on every shit box on kijiji.

Hey if you have the coin to go full Liberal "green" thats cool just come race!

David didn't mention racing...if it's a lake boat and you want new power there are next to no 2-stroke choices. If it's me I'd still be looking for the last yamaha 70 2-stroke or a 90 if you want to terrify your friends lol.

Not sure how difficult it is to acquire these, but there is the Merc Formula Race 60, and the Yamaha 55BEDS..

Someone needs to figure out for sure if the F60 small 1.85 gearcase is direct bolt on to the F70.. And that it works (exhaust flow, water pump are both ok).

Sorry Im in race mode lol

I guess the best newer option is yamaha 90.
70+ stock and reliable.
I bought an absolutely mint '96 Yamaha 90 for $2200.
Pretty cheap compaired to sst60.

The new stuff Matt posted look interesting.
Whats the weight of those motors?

The short 55hp Yamaha with Pro50 3ram trim (same configuration I run in T750) is just over 200lbs. 204lbs, I think. The Merc 60 is something like 250lbs..?

I like that Merc 60 Formula Race for a lake boat. Quiet, potential for 65mph.
