Is the Yamaha 150 and 200 porting the same? I was always under the impression that the 150 was simply a choked down 200.

The proV 150 has the same porting as a 200 but a tuner that is very close in size to a 70 and small carbs....the later vmax 150s are actually horizontal reed motors with a tight exhaust plate and small carbs. I "helped" a buddy do a vmax 150 with big carbs, tuner, exhaust plate from an early proV and Kottman heads...I'd call it a weak 225...stock porting though...bring your measuring tape

Bring your measuring tape.. lol... Thats funny.

Dubber and I spoke at length about this yesterday afternoon. It seems that what is beiing done it that they are taking the best 150 block.... Finding another year that had the best carb/injection.. Best this and that from all kinds of years and because these are "stock" parts.. Than the motor is considered stock. To me... Stock is off the show room floor. But who cares what I think?

I also think that there is the potential that parts from 200+ are used as well. Still stock, still within factory spec for jetting, etc. but well, you know.

As for who cares what you think Mitchie, generally that is nobody, not even your wife but I care. No worries as people care even less about what I think about boats :)

It's not like some one has slapped anyone in the face here. I'm blown away by the hurt it's caused you man. I don't get the drastic upset hahaha
It's a good speed with some basic parts as it seems. Stock or not.

I ran a best of 122 with that 2L F1 and that was a one fun motor.

In compared to the stock speed claims done there I guess I have a ton to learn with Mod Motors. . . .

( not taking the bait thrown Doc(aka shit sturrer) hahahaha. )

;)

I was out on Sunday.... I ran 118mph. I spend all day saturday moving weight around... Now I have it balanced. Can't believe the difference it made. I think there is more there with set up.
