Attention all racers!! A new sponsor and contingency program announced for all OPRS/TORC racers!

Shellbourne Fuels and TORC/OPRS have come to an agreement to provide on site fuel sales at all OPRS events. Also payout the top 3 spots for each final to racers who are in the Contingency Program.

Please read the attached PDF, and more details will be posted soon on the Program.

Also, if a racer, PLEASE fill out this survey so we can help guide them as to what to bring to the first event.

Drag guys... I wasn't thinking that you were not at Waterford... Welcome to fill out the survey too and just put in comments with the Qty that it is for Drags (thanks Ken). This would give them a heads up on Gravenhurst additions. After Gravenhurst they will have a good feel for what people want.

I've had 11 people fill out the survey. Thank you!

Please keep them coming if you will be racing at any Ontario/OPRS event this summer.

If you already did it, I've tweaked it slightly to better suit everyone. You are welcome to take it again (not required though), but please use the same name so I can know to delete your first survey.

The contingency program basics:
1. Payout $30 first, $20 second, $10 third per final
2. Class must have 6 scoring entries in race.
3. Racer must have Shellbourne Fuel decal on boat
4. Racer must be TORC member
5. Racer must purchase at least 18L of fuel at event they wish to be eligible, prior 11am Saturday. This is per class you want to be scored in over the weekend. They plan to have prices comparable to pump station prices.
6. Racer must fill in Contingency form during fuel purchase.

Note: Racers with small motors in one class like myself will not use that much fuel... so you can either use it up in something else at home or outside event, at a non-OPRS event, or use it at the next OPRS race... but if you don't purchase at least 18L of fuel at the next OPRS race you are not eligible for award at that particular event. So with the amount of fuel I burn, I would be eligible every other event for example if I don't use my fuel up in other ways. You are not forced to buy fuel at every event or any event. You can also just buy fuel at 10L per event if you want for convenience, you just will not be eligible for the prize money.

That's about it If I remember right.

This translated into value... using 2013 results as an example... this is about $2500 in cash prize money on the table. From an outside source... not racer pockets.

If anyone purchases fuel or recommends them to someone outside the races... please tell them to say TORC sent them. If this goes well, they will also kick back portion of sales into a year end payout.

Actually looks like the survey will not let you redo it. Sorry. I think it's IP based... If can do from another computer... give it a shot. Otherwise no worries, we have enough info from you :)

This is really cool Andrew!! Graham and I talked to these people at the boat show. For me, this is peace of mind knowing I am getting clean top quality fuel at all events. It's also one less thing to worry about when heading out to a race.
Dave.

Right, no need to hunt out and guess if the fuel has ethanol or not. Just show up at race and buy your fuel. That's worth a lot I think.

Note, I fixed it so you CAN redo the survey if you like. Please use same name so I'll know to delete previous survey.

Just an FYI... Spoke with Shellbourne yesterday... updates for Waterford:
- a range of fuels on hand from low octane to 100+
- will bring supplies to tweak octane as required to your needs
- Special to kick things off at Waterford... prices to start $1.75 per litre as mentioned before, but get a FREE race fuel jug with 20L purchase!!
- They will be setup and ready on site Friday at 10am with John Shane (the brew master) so all technical questions can be answered and worked out.
- Saturday the Sales Manager for Shellbourne and the Regional Sales Rep will be on hand.
- Being there on Sunday is TBD based on flow of weekend and needs of the racers.
- remember to qualify for Contingency Money, you must purchase fuel on site prior 11am Saturday.
