Welcome aboard Jonn. The Muskoka lakes must be littered with these...I know there's a twin Yamaha powered one at Gordon Bay...but it doesn't look like much of a project...even though any boat that age probably is.

Welcome to the site!

Why a Canadian one? Everyone up here with one thinks they are sitting on a fn' gold mine, as opposed to the rotten lumber yard that most of them would be. My assumption would be that since they were built by Charger.... They are probably wet like most old Chargers. I personally would look south for one or a Shadow... Nobody buys overpriced stuff down there it seems.. So you might as well get a cheap project.

Good luck though.

I've heard a number of times that hyperstream guy is hoarding all the Canadian ones. He can have them.

I would have to agree with Mitchie. However if your buying it cheap and as a project then a Canadian challenger will be fine because the quality of workmanship is your choice at that point.

The more and more I started looking for a challenger here in Canada.. I knew going to the states for an original one was the way to go.

You want to go fast- buy a superboat
You want to crush waves- buy a shadow
You want the in-between- buy a challenger

If your doing a rebuild on what ever you buy you should find one that looks good and strait.

Jeez Mitch...did James pee in your cheerios this morning??? Any boat that is from the 80's is going to be a project of some sort...I'd buy a Canadian one if I found one...those charger guys at least used good materials when they were building good boats. I'm sure any of the boats from south of the boarder would fit the bill too (but the guy wants what he wants..)....

My Charger wasn't rotten...just not stuck together all that well anymore.

I've got one.
Originally rigged with twin 225 mercs, now with a single 300 pro max.
The transom was done 10 years ago and at that time we checked for any signs of moisture in the core or stringers. All was good.
Don McDonald (shivers) also has an old Canadian built challenger. His was originally rigged with and still has twin mercs.

All that I was saying is that the ones I have seen for sale in Canada have been priced into another stratosphere. If I don't say what I'm thinking.. Then what kind of man am I? lol.

We all know I've been wrong before. But most often times I am right. I want a Challenger bad. I would trade for a really nice one.. Canadian or American.

my buddys charger TV has the same problem,, not rotten but the braces and transom are becoming unstuck .. :?
