Ya Ken...you hurt my feelings...lol.

Same hotel as last year? I'm bringing the kid so he might have to hang out with uncle Ken until I'm done beating up n LC on the course :)..

They can compare pee stains!
How 'bout gettin the rest of the extended Cole clan out to run the drags?
Dubber?
Mitchie?
James?
Jordan?
Let's go boys.

I would love to. I was a spectator last year at Dunnville and it was great. It will be a while yet before wifey warms up to the idea of racing though...

OMG Dubs, have we not established over and over safer to go fast on race course with support infrastructure than bombing down the lake. Where are you wearing that new Lifeline, in the outhouse? Go for it, beg forgiveness, not permission.

I hear you Hydroid, I really do. Framing racing as safer than lake running (which I do agree it is) did not go over well! She was drafting up the kijiji add for the boat shortly after that. I just don't have the time to pull it together and keep everyone happy. All in due time...

For all those who are "thinking" about racing or have reservations...
Rest assured, this group is made up of quality people.
You'll get good advice and a helping hand if needed to get you in the water safely.
After that it's all about having fun.

And if you think you can't do it...
I started with a pile of parts 7 days prior to Gravenhurst, showed up on the 6th day with a mostly completed boat and with the help of the other racers was in the water on race day.
It was hard work and worth every sleepless night.

You have a great resource here, the depth of knowledge and enthusiasm for the sport is unmatched.
Take advantage of it.
I know everyone will be glad to see you.

awe common dubber,

Don't worry Boomer, I have loads of excuses. The fact of the matter really is that I just do not have the time this year. I have been out a grand total of 35 minutes in my boat this year and it was and is water ready (nothing needs to be done). Too many demands in my life at the moment to pull anything together.

So that's it for racers ?

The saddest part is the Formula class. Every lake has at least one Charger , J-Craft or Hydrostream on if with a 150-225.

For people that have boats and aren't racing tell us what it is that you don't like or what keeps you from racing.

There should be no reason that Formula and Lake Racer don't have a minimum of a 16 boat race ladder.

The "next" drag boat may not be ready in time but I have something else in mind to run in Formula/Lake Racer.
Will know more by Thursday.
Jeff's right... Lots of good boats out there, friendly atmosphere and fun.
Give it a try.
If you need something just ask.

My biggest hang up is time. The boat needs work and I need seat time. I haven't registered with the powers that be. And a lot of my weekends consist of doing grown up stuff, like looking after kids and cleaning up. And then there's my old pooch that afraid if I leave him alone for the whole day he might not live through it.... Sucks but that's the way she goes. Fcukin way she goes.
