Okay... So as I have said recently, I am not satisfied with the sensitivity of polycarbonate to paint and other chemicals. It starts off strong as hell and then turns to shit when certain chemicals get on it.

So I have started building a mold plug in order to make them out of fibreglass and/or carbon fibre.

I have changed the design quite a bit and have been putting a ton of time into shaping and sanding.
I think that the new design and materials will have a broader appeal.
I will post pics later when I get home.

I am new to glass lay ups... So I am gonna be contacting some outside help with this project.

I'm pretty excited about it... The plug is sitting on my kitchen table so I can stare at it any time I want.. lol

Dok and I have a plan for my left over poly carb materials.. I am now sold out of poly plates thanks to hpbcanada.com.

Good choice as the flexing and harmonics at speed makes the poly susceptible to cracking.
Glass lay up is easy once you get it right. Keep us posted and would like to test one when done.

I did a test with a raw piece in my vice... I hit it with a sledge a bunch of times back and forth and it just bent.. Then I took a piece and primed and painted it... It broke in two swings. I also soaked one in gas for a couple minutes and got the same results. Regardless... I don't want to build a piece that is that sensitive. I think in smaller sizes it would live forever...

I think most people will dig the new design.. I would love to see them on some FAST drag boats when I've built a few. I have a guy in mind to help me that I am gonna try and contact next week.

Cool to hear Mitch. As said before these things DO work
If you've never run a plate... TRY ONE. It's by far the cheapest accelleration gain available.
Mitchie's polly plate was head and shoulders better out of the hole then my stainless one. My bonehead attempt to tint it just made it a little short lived.
