I thought you had to be a certain distance from shore to require flares? Like a couple miles or so?

X2
I read something recently that indicated the flare requirement BUT there is an exemption for lakes, canals and rivers where you're not farther then 1 nautical mile from shore.
How big is Ramsay Lake Kenny??
Check the transport Canada website.
Minimum safety requirements section.

What I want to know is how they caught you?!?!?!? :D

X3 on the law. I'm pretty sure you don't need them on smaller lakes.
I know we didn't require them on Sturgeon.
