@ wildcat , i might paint my cowl when i paint the baker,, mine is minty as is, almost a shame to kill it....

@ beaverton build a T-boat, with a removable bench for fun, and quick connect bucket seat for racing.. i'v got one in the works i started stripping it , got it split im waiting/thinking/planning, to cut it and start glass work.. just givin it the old optic nerve for a bit before i start rippin into it..

Ran a 28p mazco re4 today, 6600 rpm 87 mph, really good low / midrange acceleration too. best speed to date for the AE.

I had 14" setback with the srx , I needed a 29p with that prop.I have 12" on it now. The maxco re4 pulls like the srx out of the hole, has a stronger midrange, and topend on my hull. I'm running about 1" above the pad I think for best topend. I only had it on one day, LOL so still learning with it. Great prop for the ae hull though. This hull is soooo sensetive to weight and trim, trim down a bit too much after popping the hull and its like putting on the brakes. a passenger in the front kills about 10mph right now. I can probably get better dropping the prop deeper, and going back to 14" setback. For next year I'm going to move the front seats back 6" ( killing two birds there, as there is no room for your knees LOL) and remove the big group 27 battery, and big sterio amp up front as well as any other useless weight I can find. also going to blueprint the last 3 ft of the hull. My prevous best was 85 mph but I could not get that speed consistantly as the big 15 1/8" solas prop worked the excell too hard. The motor seems alot happier reving to 6500 plus, and does so every time you stab the gas.I think I can get 90 mph with this motor, might have to put on a 30 pitch cleaver to get it we'll see next spring.

that was supposed to be the sea trials boat, they say it went 89 mph. Maybe they all just get heavier with age. Or it was like the sled test back then and they all cheated and the boats where all light lay ups .
