and here I thought the kool-aid was wearing off! You'll have to ask Dok how he hurt his shoulder recently...me thinks one of his yamahas got scared and bolted when it saw one of them slomcs!

It was that booby trapped SLomc prop you lent me....not cool man...not cool.

I'm with allstock...focus...

And Remember Yamaha copied the SLomc ...they just built it with better parts, better castings, more precise machining and electronics that actually work...otherwise they are about the same..

Hey Boomer, I remember reading a post on scream and fly quite a while ago where someone had heated the block up in a oven then was able to remove the sleeve without any special tools. He then repeated the same in reverse to install (he was doing port work), might be worth researching (if this did work out for ya don't let the wife or girlfriend catch ya 8-) )

thanks you for the reply,, that will work for removing the steel sleeves but the nikasil sleeves are plated aluminum so they will expand with the block when you heat it ..so i need to find a mill to cut out the nikasil sleeves,,then ill get them to order and drop in the steel ones.. might as well get a professional to do it if im gonna do it. then i can focus on getting the pistons in the right hole :?

This method works well...I use a BBQ...but Boomers motor doesn't have steel sleeves. It needs the block/nicasil machined out to accept a steel sleeve...

dok that also worked great for replacing 4 wheeler hub bearings. ;) catch a man a fish he eats for a day, teach a man to build a motor he can go catch one him self
