Oh No, another rice motor sets a world record.
Very quick for a 50 hp motor on a V hull.

Yes Sir, Alex should have it ready. Ceramic pistons, ceramic sleeves and no rings. It can even run without a water pump. 62 should be easy beat.

That would also be a basically box stock motor, hull without lift built in it like most your hulls, a through hub prop, and no trim (unless a capsule hull). Impressive.

Very impressive!!
His first run was in the 56 mph range. Then he runs 62 mph. I am sure it is a basic stock motor.

blue printed to stock spec, like anything else I'm sure. The rules are pretty clear you can't do anything out of spec. I asusme they are inspecting the motors properly, it's a presitgous event, but I don't know the group.

Must provide measurement certificate on motor and hull before launching and then if you get a record, boat is impounded (measurers can give clearance to release the boat for more record runs) until measured...ie. you'll end up getting your motor back in a box.

That is true. It is part of the process. First fault and your DQ'd. They start with the easiest to check. Normally it is the gearcase. There could be 3 inspectors. Each inspector has to sign off on every part. It takes a few hours.

Will it run on pump fuel with no water pump or too much combustion chamber heat?

Interesting tidbit... our 15hp... run hotter with the water pump. You only need the pump for idling (but pickup is in front of gearcase). In mod you remove the pump alltogether to help free up some hp.
