nice area. im sure theres a 4 acre with a house and shop somewhere out there.

I'm looking...

Let me tell you it's worth it!!! We've been "in the woods" for three years now and it's a completely different life. It's nice to be able to park my boat and all my friends' boats in my driveway lol. We moved from a subdivision house that if I parked my truck and trailer in front it would partially block both my neighbours' driveways lol.

It's more work for sure...lots of grass...cutting wood for heat...plowing snow...but it's good outside work. I'll take a bit of extra work to have the room to breath.

We are doing the same thing, Tomcat. And looking in the similar area!!
We sold the cottage in the spring and are on the hunt for property now.
We have put offers in on four different parcels ranging from 3 to 49 acres.
BE CAREFUL!! One lot we put an offer on could not obtain a building permit due to the Oak Ridges Moraine act. Another had 30 metres of clay and clay/silt mix under the surface (no drainage and no water for a well).
The other two were simply overpriced for the area.

Good luck in the hunt. Maybe we'll end up being neighbours!!

Looking forward to the lifestyle, don't mind outdoor work as long as it's not planting some stupid garden.
Chop wood, cut grass, power wash stuff with enough elbow room to spread out and make a bit of noise and not have someone observing every little thing you do with an eye to complain.
Thankfully the area I'm currently in isn't like that and I play by the rules, but the ones who don't get unwelcome visits from bureaucrats.

I know the Oak Ridges Moraine stuff well, not to say I know everything but I've had my dealings with them in past.
Ideally we'll find a knock down with some ground water history.
Lots to be aware of.

That would be extremely cool, might be difficult in the Ganaraska "Hills" though.

Like to be close to the lake or slightly north into the Ganaraska Hills
Lots of farm country there, not much for sale unless it's a 55 acre farm. Don't see myself as a farmer.

55 acre farm would be cool. you could pave a 1/4 mile drag strip. then dredge a 1/4 mile drag lake right beside it

Sure Boomer, and you'd move right in, lol
Bet the neighbors would love that.

what neighbors? they would be a mile away. ;) :D
