I have a connection with a glass supplier in Hamilton through a local shop here in the Falls. I can get shop rate on Lexan. What I need is a good shield for a template. I don't want to show up with some cardboard P.O.S. and come home and have to start cutting and grinding.

How many people out there want a new windscreen? If I can get an original for a template I can get an idea of what these are going to cost.

Let me know what's put there and how many we want and I'll see what I can do.

Does anyone know if the 16 is the same as the 18? I need a windshield for my 16 and I think I have one side that we could use to copy.

Dubber did you pitch your old ones?

Unfortunately yes. I kept them for about a year thinking I would paint them red and then I got into one of my dump run moods. Sorry gents....

I wonder if they are the same - measure from the centre around to the edge and I will do the same.

Maybe Murph can post and let us know if they were the same?

Boats have different beams so Windshields are not the same size.
Personally after seeing Toms head hit one, inches from his jugular, no way am I putting one on.
A little to the right and he would have been wearing the center bar as a face piercing.
A guillotine waiting to spring, even a fall could set it off.
Going Fiberglass.
So will Don's 16.

Head took the right, body took the left.
Lucky Dude.

Thanks for the info Murph. Are you going to make any FG windshields to sell? I think I'm still leaning toward the stock one but I could be talked into an all black glass one lol.

I would go fibreglass too. One piece would be sweet. It doesn't matter to me since I have nothing. Optimally I would love to chrome vinyl it after. I've been debating 3M Dinoc Carbon too. Even if I get lexan I'll end up wrapping it eventually.

I picked up 2 4'x7' sheets of lexan last weekend. I'm still looking for an original to copy from an 18' boat. I'm looing to make 3 pieces. 2 to use and one to keep as a template for future use as a template so we wont have an issue with tracking one down.
If anyone has evenone side of an 18' windshield let me know.

ps. I grabbed the lexan from a guy Smithville, near Niagara Falls. Found him on Kijiji. Search "lexan" in the area. he still has about 9 sheets left for $60 each.

That's great! It is a bummer that I tossed my old windshield now...
