i like the steering cables the best, im with dok that is a sweet gel job, with a low water pickup you can go way up with your motor, try even with the pad and go up from there 1/4" at a time.. solid mounts are just that,, SOLID,, stock ones are rubber your motor will have some play in it between the clamp and mid. what kind of speeds are you seeing now with your setup? what rpm are you turning? what prop ?

as long as the hull is solid i think we can get it into the 90's.. i think i have THE prop too try..

Okay thanks ill check out the mounts. I actually havnt had a chance to get out in it yet, just got it 2 days ago. Motor is freshly rebuilt and has been gone threw. Also the core and transom was vacuum baged in over the winter and I'm told the transom was made a bit thicker for strength.

I'm not to sure but the glass work and paint looks top notch. I checked and the motor has solid mounts.

Someone has built that boat to run, no doubt. If this is your first performance boat just take it easy, get some seat time in, it's going to be a handful at first. Tons of knowledge here, congrats on the purchase and welcome to the site!

If it was run by previous owner, if so where is it set now, try it there and adjust from this point. Atleast measure.

Sounds like you got your self a sweet whip set up pretty good. Always nice to get into a boat
that has the goodies to make it real fast.

Your ahead of the game already working with good equipment. Seat time is a breeze vectors just need a little steering input but other than that there on rails. You'll get the hang of it first time out. Nothin to it. They don't do anything weird as long as the pad hasn't been modified.

Right on!
Great colours. I doubt there are many up this way with the black and gold.

The 28" chopper prop you've got there should be a good all around prop.
Once you get the feel of keeping the boat on the pad and giving it trim you'll have a rocket.

That is a sweet combo! I like the suggestion that someone had of trying it out where the previous owner has it set unless it was whacked out either way. It looks like the original owner had lots of go fast items so maybe he had it setup nicely.

Thanks everyone. I'll be sure to try it out how it's set first and see how it runs, then I'll raise the motor a bit at a time and compare.
