It was originally the same colours. There are several versions of the hull...I think they flipped a coin to decide what got used where. The mould had wedges between the inner strakes and no notch at the transom. I added the notch and removed the wedges.

I used wood because it's the best. No question. Rot isn't a huge concern with it being bagged in and very well sealed on top....and not living in the water...or outside lol. It does have foam in the sides where compression isn't a concern. My SRV is built with the same stuff...I'm a big fan of wood lol.

Haha and must be stored above 21° lol. Right on - I've always viewed composite as the way to go because it takes the concern of rot out of the equation. But I agree - nothing makes a stronger hull than wood. Especially marine ply when sealed properly. Really easy to work with too - I just wish it wasn't so heavy.

If they're built right rot isn't a concern...and I don't think for equal strength that wood is any heavier. Even the original core in the charger wasn't rotten..and only wet in three spots...and it was kept in the water since new. I think Murph posted some pictures of a wet foam core...and it was no less shitty than balsa...so you still need to do the job right...

Hey P@ Huey Lewis said it is hip to be square pal :)

I literally went through our September vacation photos and there are no boat pics with the new motor of note. Lots of pics from the fleeting days of summer and the fam :). I will see what I can get.

Dok has filled you in on the build. It is absolutely incredible. The size of the knees alone sets it apart from the rest. I am pretty sure that I would break before the boat would. Dok is being too kind. Interior and a windshield are low hanging fruit. If it weren't for the rest of the boat being so solid the finishing touches wouldn't have made sense. From Everything Dok did from the build to the wiring, pop up cleats, and splash well delete were top shelf.

As for the 2.6 it is a secret, just another one of them there Florida "150s". It does feel more stout than the old 200 (which even though ugly never gave me problems and let me beat on it). It is not fully broken in but I want to string it out with my chopper for a real compare before it goes away for its winter slumber.

Don't worry Dok, I'll jack it to the moon, add the setback and all that fun stuff. I better finish my basement before I blueprint anything lol!

The stringers and floor of the SRV are spaceage composites, covered in carbon fibre. I don't believe in foam for transoms or core. The rest is fine, other than it doesn't hold screws.
That charger is sweeeeeeet, I remember it being built.
