We will figure it out but would like it set before the race weekend. So we can get together sometime a month before.

Due to some scheduling changes with events in Gravenhurst, the Gravenhurst race will be on the weekend of June 27-28. Jason, can you make it now?

Not good, it runs right into long weekend with July 1. What was GH scheduling issue?
The weekend prior was always good as it allowed distance from long weekend commitments/family engagements, most kids done with school/exams.
June 27-28 100% firm?

July 1 is the Wednesday and it is to my belief that most people will be up the following weekend (from what I have heard).
The issue is that the car show is always on father's day and this year father's day is on June 21. Since the car show has been around for 20 plus years, they have precedents over us. I booked the weekend in October but no other organizational committee was really looking that far in advance to realize that, I guess. I tried to negotiate to have the car show moved to the wharf but it was non-negotiable despite the marketing benefits that I can see... They responded with offering us other locations and dates (such as June 13) but they did not suit our needs.
This date may not be ideal to some, but myself and the TORC execs that I spoke with believe that this weekend opens us up for event growth and vast promotion, as it is further into the summer to allow for more spectators, but not too far to run into the problems with wind and crazy boat traffic.
I hope this is enough notice for everyone and that they are able to make their schedules work around this. If this date does not work as well this year then I will speak with the committee for the car show to ensure that this does not happen in the future.

I think it's a better weekend Will as far as spectators. We'll be there.

The fact that the holiday is in the middle of the week shouldn't make a difference with the race weekend IMHO. I should be there!

I've been looking around too, don't know the area very well.
We actually had a run up there some years back and launched at this site. We all met in a restaurant parking lot in Minden and convoyed from there. Very cool, ten or twenty boats taking over the road LOL.
Chain of lakes i think, and i'm sure there is access to at least three lakes from there.
Anyone close know of a good campsite or cabins motels etc to stay?
Matt and Geiger are in this area too.
