ahh mr pedantic returns !!!
for those who like a laugh I shall explain (I would of put this is for the thicko, but wouldn't be fair on thick people)

I put down the 1.25 inch carbs as they are the most common 70hp carbs to find for the oval port 56 cu in.

A lot of people in the usa are under the impression that the 70hp only had the 1 inch venturi carb that was fitted to the 60hp after 1994,
that is not correct and never was.
But because people have been told this they believe it to be true, just like you believe the 34mm venturi dont exist.
But believe me 100% they do .

go look at how many different carbs were made for the 56 cu in oval port.
Look up from when it first went on sale to the public in 1993 to its final end run numbers .

once you have done that, go back in the archives and see what I wrote. you might find that I said
"I took a long time finding the hard to get larger carbs and could get the 1 1/4 carbs easy,
but I wanted the larger carbs "

I asked on this topic about jets, because in the uk we dont do a lot of jet swapping on general on outboard engines.
I did not know the different characteristics between the black top carbs and those as in the sst60 etc .

by the way there are 9 sets of carbs commonly listed for the oval port 56 cu in motors.
part numbers are as follows.
0437633 - 0439459 . 0435381 - 0439447 - 0437089 - 0439453 -0436607 - 0437087 - 0439452 -
.
.

No that is not correct.

the inlet and outlet on 70hp carbs is 1.5 inch both ends with 1.25 venturi. that is both early and later carbs.

that is the only genuine size 70hp carbs on the oval port engines listed from 1993 - 2001.

I don't see anything about most common here... Weird. It says that is the only genuine 70hp carb.

I'm just sayin'
Sounds like you're contradicting yourself. I don't see the need for name calling phill, this is a public forum...

Please go read it again ,and take your time to read the sentance.
please make sure you use the full context that was written as in
"only genuine size 70hp carbs on the oval port engines listed from 1993 - 2001"

please note only genuine size 70hp carbs on the oval port engines listed from 1993 - 2001.

You see its very easy to get confused when not paying full attention to what is actually written.
It is understandable, as you are reading something and not hearing it being told, text v conversation can have very different meanings.
A conversation on a phone for example is very different to reading text, and actually seeing a person face on and hearing the same conversation as was spoken on the phone can yet even more of an effect of the outcome.

by the way someone is bloody quick at deleting my posts today. !!!

I find it funny how people like Hec2buck take time to answer all your questions and half them time you just end up telling them they are wrong. Why bother posting all these questions when you already know?

Hec2buck gave some fantastic advice, and I did thank him for it.
He comes across as someone who knows a great deal about outboard engines, and certainly more than i do, and definitely more than you..
BUT he was under the impression like a lot of folks, that the later engines used smaller carbs, that is incorrect.
where I come from Is it good manners to correct information that was un-intentionally given wrong.
thus I corrected about the carburettor sizes.

Now why are you trying so hard again to cause a problem ?
especially as this is a subject that you also know nothing about or would not of gone onto a forum asking the very same type of question ?
.
you might think people are finding you funny, well yes they are, some think your hilarious, but at the same time many are seeing you being put back into place with all your incorrectly read and re quoted half arsed statements and seeing you as an idiot..

if you want to take a pop at me then fine, do it in private messages, it will save you from looking so daft, plus will let topics stay un-tarnished.

Sorry for tarnishing the topic Dok/Onecycle.
I was looking for some cheap entertainment. The hookers and cocaine got too expensive.

slightly off topic but on same lines, did you ever find out what year your carbs with number L0433699 were from ?
I ask as I cant find them listed neither, and did they work ok with original jets ? I found 0433698 but not yours.
